Windows Intune und Office 365 wachsen zusammen

Im Rahmen der Microsoft Cloud Strategie werden zur Zeit von Microsoft Dokumente zum neuen April Prerelease von Windows Intune veröffentlicht.

Wie in dem Word Dokument unter dem Downloadlink zu lesen ist, erhält Windows Intune demnächste einige neue Features:

  • Greater Control with a New Sign-in Service
  •  Updated and New Administration Consoles

Windows Intune administrator console
Enhanced in this release of Windows Intune, this console enables you to perform
key Windows Intune management tasks.

Windows Intune account portal
New in this release of Windows Intune, this portal enables you to create and
manage the business account for the Windows Intune service, and it provides you
with the ability to specify users are to be managed in the Windows Intune
administrator console. This portal replaces the Microsoft Online Customer Portal
(MOCP) at mocp.microsoftonline.com.

  •  Mobile Device Management

iPad and iPad2, iPhones, iTouch  iOS 4.0 or later
Android-based phones and mobile devices  Android 2.1 or later

  •  The Windows Intune Company Portal: A New Self-Service Portal for Your End-Users

Windows Intune company portal
This portal supports Windows-based computers and lets users browse
applications that you make available, install applications on their computers,
and manage their devices. For example, authorized users can add their
computers or mobile devices to Windows Intune or remove them. For users
who do need to contact their IT help desk, you can provide customized IT

Windows Intune mobile company portal
This version of the company portal is optimized for mobile devices. Authorized
users can visit this portal, sign in to Windows Intune, browse and install internal
line-of-business applications that you make available, install the applications on
their mobile devices, and contact their IT Help desk.

  •  Enhanced Group Management

Dynamic Group Membership
User group – Security group: If AD DS is deployed in your environment, you can specify
synchronized security groups as membership criteria.* If you manually added security
groups to the Windows Intune account portal, you can specify those security groups.
User group – Manager: You can specify the manager as membership criteria; that is, users must report to that manager to be a member of the group.
Device group – Organizational unit (OU): You can specify the OU for computers.*
Device group – Domain: You can specify the domain for a computer.
Device group – Device type: You can specify computers and, if your environment is configured to support mobile devices, mobile devices.*

  •  Integration with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services Recommended Policy Settings
  •  Mobile Security Policy
  •  Bandwidth Optimization
  •  Improved Alert Customization
  •  New Updates Views for Update Compliance
  •  Automatic Windows Intune Client Software Removal

Insbesondere die Option “Windows Azure Active Directory”, welches nichts anderes als die Nutzung der in Office 365 erstellten Konten erlaubt, ist ein sicheres zeichen dafür, das die zwei Produkte näher zusammen wachsen. Aber auch durch die Integration von “on-premises” Exchange Umgebungen zur sicheren Verwaltung von mobilen Endgeräten wie Windows Phone bis hin zu Apple iPhone geschieht zukünftig durch die Hybrid Anbindung mit Office 365 und AD FS2. Leider steht die Exchange Anbindung erst mit der fertigen Intune Version zur Verfügung und kann dadurch nicht mit der PreRelease Version getestet werden.
